Menorah will light up Ellsworth for first time in 22 years

For the first time in 22 years, the Ellsworth AFB Chapel is hosting a base-wide menorah lighting on December 19 at noon.

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. --

For the first time in 22 years, the Ellsworth AFB Chapel is hosting a base-wide menorah lighting on December 19 at noon.

The menorah will be lit at the Freedom Chapel to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Chanukah. Anyone with base access is welcome at the event.

Chanukah is a Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. The menorah is lit every night of the eight-night holiday to celebrate the Jewish victory in the second century, B.C.E.

For more information on the menorah lighting, contact the Ellsworth AFB Chapel at 385-1598.
