ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. - As of Nov. 21, 2016, the Antelope Ridge Gate is closed following its seven-week trial period.

28th Security Forces Squadron officials state closing the gate will help fill a critical gap in operational requirements, and will allow the squadron to effectively employ their personnel to continue safeguarding Ellsworth Air Force Base.

"While the closure is not ideal for those who used it during this trial period, the safety and security of Team Ellsworth and their families is first and foremost in our mind," said Maj. Jaime Hernandez Jr., commander of the 28th SFS.
