ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. --
Upcoming TRICARE policy changes may affect Airmen, their families and other beneficiaries.
Pharmacy co-pays will increase in February, due to the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2013 passed by Congress. The annual increase will occur based on retiree cost of living adjustments. When the year's increase will be less than a dollar, the increase will be delayed and combined with the following year's adjustment.
Prime service areas that are not located near a military treatment facility and base realignment and closure facilities will be disbanded, Oct. 1. TRICARE Management Activity encourages beneficiaries to familiarize themselves with TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra in order to smoothly transition from TRICARE Prime.
