With summer coming to a close and winter fast approaching, opportunities to rent summer equipment from the Outdoor Recreation Center won't last long.

"Now is the best time to rent equipment," said Troy Hampton, 28th Force Support Squadron outdoor recreation assistant. "You can use these last few warm days to rent out anything you didn't have a chance to use earlier in the season."

For summer equipment needs, the facility offers four-wheeler, kayak, paddle board and camper rentals. There is a daily charge, three-day charge or weekly charge on all equipment.

You can also reserve equipment up to 30 days prior to the day you want to use it, Hampton said.

However, summer equipment isn't all the center offers. Winter rentals will soon be available, including skis, snowboards and ice fishing equipment.

"Keep up on our newsletter to stay [informed] on new events and items," Hampton said.

There are also many free rentals for single Airmen. These include compound bows, shotguns for trap and skeet shooting, kayaks, paddle boards and mountain bikes.

Outdoor Recreation is open Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, and is closed on the weekends.
