Chief Master Sergeant Kevin S. Peterson is the Command Chief of the 28th Bomb Wing, Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. The chief serves as the principal senior advisor to the 28th Bomb Wing commander. In his capacity, as the highest ranking enlisted Airman on base, he advises the commander on all matters of health, morale and welfare; as well as professional development and the war-fighting effectiveness of 3100-plus enlisted Airmen.

Chief Peterson is a native of Geneseo, Ill., and entered the Air Force in November 1985. His background includes various duties in munitions systems, to include conventional munitions team member; conventional munitions crew chief; munitions controller; munitions inspector; munitions seven-level instructor; munitions security assistance program instructor; systems, materiel, and production superintendent; and squadron and group superintendent. His assignments include bases in Colorado, Florida, Republic of Korea, Virginia, Texas, Germany, Italy, North and South Dakota.
