Facility Closings on Base

QUESTION 

I heard a rumor that our Library was closing, along with Gizzi's Coffee Shop. Also told that the Theater would be next. Could you please share any information you would have on this!

Not correct. Gizzi's made a business decision to close and notified the base on 22 May; however, neither the library or the theater are slated for closure.

All bases have been examining the services they provide and identifying some for closure or modified operations in order to address financial pressures. I believe the library is an important part of our community and will work toward establishing the right level of service to balance needs and available resources. You will likely see some changes to library offerings and hours over the next few months.

The theater is an AAFES operated activity. AAFES management has not approached the base regarding discontinuation of the activity. .

I am reviewing potential changes to our base level services this week and will provide more information about the entire portfolio in the near future.
