Barber Shop

The Commander's Action Line is a forum for the Ellsworth community to make suggestions or voice concerns about Ellsworth directly to Col. Mark Weatherington, 28th Bomb Wing commander. Below, he responds to a question about the Barber Shop.

QUESTION
I have been stationed/TDY to several bases and I found that when I PCS'd here the base barber shop was not open at all on Sunday. Normally Sunday is the busiest/best day to get a haircut so that we can look sharp when arriving to work on Monday morning. Not showing up to work looking like we could use a haircut. Not sure if anyone else feels the same way but I have discussed it with others and they as well think the barber shop should be open Sunday's.

RESPONSE
All services on base must make a deliberate decision on hours, based on customer needs and viability of their service. Yours is the first formal inquiry we have received regarding Sunday hours at the barber shop since awarding the current contract in 2007. The shop currently offers full services on Saturday, and occasionally on Sunday mornings during the summer to meet increased demands during periods of ROTC activity.
