Ellsworth begins undergoing Personnel Services Delivery Transformation today, which will affect how everyone conducts personnel transactions.

The PSD-T is the Air Forces’ program to improve accuracy by reducing steps and enabling Airmen to interact with the contact center where decision makers and approval authorities reside, said Capt. Jonathan Morgan, 28th Mission Support Squadron, military personnel flight commander.

PSD-T will also expand capability to a 24-7 operation where Airmen can conduct business from any location with web access.

“Airmen will no longer have to leave their work and go to the MPF and wait for assistance. Less time waiting means more productivity,” Captain Morgan said.

Additionally, PSD-T will save the Air Force money and resources by centralizing processes to facilitate web-based applications and gain efficiencies Captain Morgan said.

“This is scheduled as a phasing process over the next 18 months, to gradually eliminate the need for MPF to act as a middle-man for transactions,” the captain.

Everyone will need an Air Force Portal account. From there, they’ll be able to access virtual MPF to conduct their business.

The MPF will still be available to help and answer questions, but Airmen will have to log in to the Air Force Portal themselves and conduct their transactions, Captain Morgan said.

“Believe it or not, PSD-T will improve morale, enhance readiness and save the Air Force a lot of money in the long run,” said Maj. Frank Battistelli, 28th MSS commander. “It may be a paradigm shift for many of us, but the conveniences of accomplishing personnel actions from the comfort of your own home or office are tremendous.”

Major Battistelli continued, “If PSD-T means the Air Force can better allocate its resources to improve our ability to provide global vigilance, reach and power ... then it’s already a success.”
