Base conducting exercise May 31 – June 1

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The tornado sirens will be sounding on Ellsworth AFB as part of a base severe weather exercise that has been scheduled for May 31 - June 1.

Base and area residents may hear announcements over the "giant voice" system and sirens. All base residents are encouraged to review their preparedness plans to ensure everyone understands what steps to take if severe weather such as a tornado were to strike the base, including how to notify family members of their whereabouts.

There may be delays or issues entering and exiting the base during the exercise. Please plan to arrive early for appointments or call in advance to ensure appointments and services are not impacted.
