ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Six Airmen from Ellsworth’s Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) Chapter 951 were recently recognized during the AFSA Division 3 Annual Professional Airman’s Conference held in Independence, Missouri, May 4 – 6, 2017.
Chapter Vice-President Tech. Sgt. Ryan Mitchell led the Ellsworth delegation as the senior delegate, accompanied by Legislative Affairs Trustee Chief Master Sgt. (ret) Kevin Ott, Retiree Affairs Trustee Master Sgt. (ret) James Savage accompanied by his wife Elaine Warner-Savage, and Chapter Senior Advisor Master Sgt. (ret) David Bamburg accompanied by his wife Marny Bamburg.
Chapter 951 members were nominated for several individual awards:
NCO of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Ryan Mitchell
Volunteer Service Person of the Year: Master Sgt. Jessica Young
Family Member of the Year: Mrs. Marny Bamburg
Member of the Year: Chief Master Sgt. (ret) Kevin Ott; as well as the chapter’s nomination for Chapter of the Year.
Chapter 951 took home two awards: for outstanding Chapter Communications program and Website of the Year for 2016. Chapter 951 will now go on to compete at the AFSA International Professional Airman’s Conference to be held in Reno, Nevada in July.
During the Division 3 President’s luncheon, Savage received special recognition for his 50 years of AFSA membership and Warner-Savage was recognized for her past service as the International President of the AFSA Auxiliary.
At the conclusion of the Division 3 business session, new executive council officer elections were held, with Bamburg re-elected for another term as a division trustee and Ott elected for his first term as a division trustee.
