Base to conduct exercise Feb. 22
ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The base is scheduled to conduct an active shooter exercise Feb. 22, which is intended to evaluate the ability of the 28th Bomb Wing to react, respond to and mitigate an active shooter incident.
Base and area residents may hear announcements over the “giant voice” system, sirens, response vehicles and simulated gunfire. All personnel are expected to take the appropriate actions in their work centers.
Motorists may encounter delays or issues entering and exiting the base during the exercise. Please plan to arrive early for appointments or call in advance to ensure appointments and services are not impacted.
