May is fitness month and the 28th Force Support Squadron has organized several events to promote fitness and healthy competition.

The first event to kick off fitness month was The Amazing Race, modeled after the reality based television show, that consisted of a 3-mile course of several challenges and obstacles. Eight teams of two participated in the event that tested the physical and mental endurance at a variety of locations ranging from the Bellamy Fitness Center to the base lakes. Prizes were given to first, second and third place finishers.

"It was fun," said Staff Sgt Otto Yan, 28th Security Forces Squadron military working dog trainer. "I watch the TV show religiously so I was excited to see what the event here was going to be about."

Upcoming events include The Strongest Man competition at the Bellamy Fitness Center, Lunchtime Dodgeball, a Scavenger Hunt and The Earth Day 10K. To find out more about these and other events, call the Bellamy Fitness Center at (605) 385-2266.
