Tornado siren to sound April 23 Published April 23, 2013 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The tornado sirens will be sounding on Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. today as part of a base exercise. Airmen and their families are expected to find shelter and take appropriate actions when the sirens sound. All base residents are encouraged to review their preparedness plans to ensure everyone understands what steps to take if severe weather such as a tornado were to strike the base.
