The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosted a "Meet The Employer" workshop for military members at the Rushmore Center on Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., March 26.

The newly - organized workshop is designed to put local employers in contact with retiring or separating service members and their families, and assist them with learning about employment opportunities available to them upon their release from the Air Force.

"Our sole purpose is to help the community learn about employment opportunities," said Jeffrey Hollinshead, 28th Force Support Squadron AFRC community readiness consultant.

The nine organizations that participated in the workshop all agreed that the qualities veterans possess as employees are highly sought after in their respective companies and agencies.

"The company and agency representatives here are always looking to hire veterans because they know that most veterans have a good work ethic, are on time and are adaptable," continued Hollinshead.

This was the second time the AFRC presented the workshop and that is intended to be administered in conjunction with the base's Transition Assistance Program from this point forward.
