Airman receives court-martial punishment Published March 25, 2013 28th Bomb Wing Legal Office ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- One Ellsworth Airman recently received a court-martial punishment for his actions. Senior Airman John F. Jeffers, 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, pled guilty to operating a vehicle while drunk, Feb. 11. A military judge sentenced him to confinement for 10 days, forfeiture of $200 pay per month for three months, hard labor without confinement for 30 days, restriction to the limits of Ellsworth Air Force Base for 30 days and a reprimand. All members of the Armed Forces are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The UCMJ lists a number of criminal offenses. A member who commits one of these offenses is subject to trial by court-martial. The rules and procedures for court-martial administration are governed by Air Force Instruction 51-201, "Administration of Military Justice."
