Airmen receive courts-martial punishments Published March 5, 2013 28th Bomb Wing Legal Office ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Three Ellsworth Airmen recently received courts-martial punishments for their actions. Senior Airman Stephen J. Jeffrey, 28th Maintenance Squadron, pled guilty to wrongful use of marijuana, Jan. 9. A panel of officers sentenced him to be reduced in rank to airman basic, confinement for one month, hard labor without confinement for one month and restriction to the limits of Ellsworth for one month. Airman 1st Class Robert T. Marriott, 28th Civil Engineer Squadron, pled guilty to operating a vehicle while drunk, Jan. 14. A military judge sentenced him to be reduced in rank to airman, 75 days hard labor without confinement and a reprimand. Tech. Sgt. Joshua D. Hallmark, 28th CES, pled not guilty to charges of assault consummated by a battery and aggravated assault, Jan. 22. A panel of officers found him guilty, Jan. 23, and sentenced him to be reduced in rank to senior airman and confinement for 10 months, Jan. 24. All members of the Armed Forces are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The UCMJ lists a number of criminal offences. A member who commits one of these offences is subject to trial by court-martial. The rules and procedures for court-martial administration are governed by Air Force Instruction 51-201, "Administration of Military Justice."
