Dakota Thunder Motorcycle Ride Aug. 7

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Registration for the free 2012 Dakota Thunder Motorcycle run on Aug. 7, begins at 8 a.m. at the South Dakota Air and Space Museum in Box Elder, S.D.

Participants will be escorted onto Ellsworth and will have the opportunity to have their picture taken on their motorcycle in front of a B-1 bomber. The motorcycle run, which starts promptly at noon, begins on Ellsworth and ends on Main Street in downtown Sturgis with a military appreciation ceremony. The event will conclude with a B-1 flyover at 3 p.m.
