Base picnic slated for Aug. 17

Airmen and their families are invited to enjoy a day filled with good food, activities for all ages and fellowship during the free base picnic hosted by the 28th Force Support Squadron Aug. 17.

Events will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. in the Pride Hangar and Bellamy Fitness Center. Ultimate Frisbee, swimming and volleyball are among the many activities available throughout the day.

Ellsworth's Second Annual Multicultural Observance will be held in conjunction with the picnic. This event will recognize the contributions and influences of many of the diverse cultures that make up the Air Force and our nation, including Native American, African, Hispanic, and Asian-Pacific traditions. Multicultural activities will include bocce ball (similar to bowling), dominoes and chess. Hula, salsa dancing and tae kwon do performances will also be held.

A free lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, coleslaw, chips and drinks will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
