Job Application

QUESTION

Sir,

I applied for and you approved my application for VSIP. Yesterday I received the offer from the CPO, but am ineligible because I must separate on 31 August, 2012-no sooner, no later. If personnel are not allowed to look for a job before applying, how does the AF expect anyone to apply for separation incentives? It makes zero sense.

  RESPONSE

First, thank you for your service at Ellsworth--I know this is a challenging time for a lot of people. The voluntary separation programs are administered by the headquarters, not by the 28 BW. Headquarters Air Force established separation dates for VSIP (Round I 31 Dec 2011, Round II 30 Apr 2012, and Round III 31 August 2012). We are not allowed to offer VSIP with a different separation date.

The Civilian Personnel Office held several Town Hall Meetings to inform the civilian workforce of the rules and deadlines concerning VERA/VSIP. I am committed to keeping the Civilian Workforce at Ellsworth informed and will continue to offer Town Hall meetings as soon as we get any additional information concerning Workforce Restructuring. Please feel free to contact the Civilian Personnel Office at 385-2484 if you have any further questions.
