Protocol in Centennial Estates

QUESTION

I know soon Centennial Estates housing will officially be off base, but until then it is still considered on base. It is my understanding that we are to obey the customs and courtesies such as reveille and retreat whether we live in Rushmore, Prairie View, or Centennial housing. Am I wrong in that understanding? While driving home from work today, to Centennial housing, it was 1700 and I stopped my car while the national anthem started. At least 8 cars passed by me going both directions and a few went so far as to give me dirty looks while passing me. If we are to still respect the base rules & regulations, then there are a lot of people that need reminded of how they should behave. Please advise.
Thank you

  RESPONSE

You are absolutely correct. Centennial housing remains a part of the base until the fence line is completed. Residents will render all customs and courtesies, to include stopping vehicles for reveille and retreat. Additionally, Security Forces patrols can correct as appropriate while performing their normal duties throughout the base.
