Cass 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Airmen and their family members older than 20 years of age are required to present two forms of identification when applying for a new common access card or ID card at the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System/ID Card office. Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, Policies for a Common Identification Standard for Federal Employees and Contractors, mandates that one valid state or federal government issued picture ID and an additional source of ID be presented when requesting new credentials to ensure that only authorized individuals receive them. Birth certificates, Social Security cards, passport voter registration cards and school photo IDs are acceptable as secondary forms of ID. Cards issued through the Real-time Automated Personnel Identification System allow individuals to obtain access to a variety of locations on base, including work spaces, family housing, schools, the 28th Medical Group, commissary and the Exchange. For more information, call the DEERS/ID Card office at (605) 385-2446.
