Airman receives punishment

Senior Airman Kyle Schmidt, 28th Civil Engineer Squadron, pled guilty during a special court-martial March 12 to two violations of Article 92 (failure to obey an order or regulation), one violation of Article 111 (drunken or reckless operation of a vehicle, aircraft or vessel), one violation of Article 128 (assault) and two violations of Article 134 (reckless endangerment and adultery) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Schmidt's offenses included driving a vehicle in a reckless manner, assaulting a female, and discharging a firearm in the vicinity of his wife and 10-week-old daughter during a verbal altercation. Punishment consisted of a reduction to the grade of airman, 10 months confinement and a bad conduct discharge.
