VA Black Hills Health Care System to host a Veterans Creative Arts show Published Jan. 19, 2012 ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The Veteran Affairs Black Hills Health Care System is scheduled to host a Veterans Creative Arts show at Fort Meade on March 7 and Hot Springs on March 19 to judge entries for submission to the 2012 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. The NVCA festival is a national event featuring artistic talent competitions in art, music, drama and dance to be held in Boston, Mass., October 2012. The program is open to all Veterans treated inside VA medical centers and clinics across the country. Entrants must compete through the VA at which they are registered, and entries must have been created after April 2011. Veterans are invited to submit entries in the following categories: fine and applied arts, crafts and performing arts (music, instrumental, drama and dance), and creative writing. Performing arts entries must be no more than three minutes in length, and there are some size restrictions for fine and applied arts. Entries for the Fort Meade show must be submitted no later than February 10. Entries for the Hot Springs show must be submitted no later than March 9.
