Base flags at half staff Published Sept. 15, 2011 ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Flags on Ellsworth Air Force Base will be flown at half staff Sept. 15 in remembrance of Senior Airman Richard Redick, 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron sortie support journeyman, who was shot and killed in Hampton, Va. Aug. 31. Redick was on leave in Virginia when the incident occurred. He arrived at Ellsworth in June 2009.
