Active Parenting of Teens Published Sept. 10, 2011 ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- Parents who sign up for the six-session Active Parenting of Teens course will learn skills for: communicating effectively with their teens; preventing the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; disciplining while teaching responsibility; encouraging the development of self esteem and character; redirecting misbehavior and encouraging nonviolent conflict resolution. Armed with these new skills, parents are better prepared to raise teens who are cooperative, responsible and able to resist peer pressure. These teens are then empowered to become adults who live happy, independent and productive lives. Classes are held quarterly at the 28th Medical Group. For information on the next class date and to sign up, contact Lee at 385-3486.
