A town hall meeting was conducted at the base theatre June 7 to provide Centennial Housing residents with the latest information related to the transfer of housing units to the Hunt Building Corporation.

Sixty-eight people attended the meeting on Tuesday, hosted by Col. Mark Weatherington, 28th Bomb Wing commander, and received a briefing on the latest available facts about the business negotiations between the Air Force Real Property Agency and Hunt.

"Our goal is to keep you informed as much as possible," Colonel Weatherington said. "Things will change throughout the negotiation process, and we will continue to hold town hall meetings to ensure our Airmen and their families have all the information they need to make these complex decisions."

Hunt will officially take over Centennial Estates on August 1, 2011 with the authorization to rent only to military members assigned to Ellsworth AFB. The town hall meetings will be the primary outlet to share information in regard to the transition.

The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m., June 8 at the base theater, followed by another at 8:30 a.m., June 9. All Centennial Housing residents are encouraged to attend the meetings to allay their concerns regarding the transition of housing.
