As part of his assumption of command ceremony, Lt. Col. Gary Gualano addressed Airmen of the Air Force Financial Services Center with words of reassurance and encouragement at the base theater, Mar. 24.

The Airmen listened as he expressed what being the new commander of the AFFSC meant to him. "It is both an honor and a privilege to assume command of the AFFSC," he said. "I'm proud of our role in supporting the broader Air Force mission...and proud to serve with an incredible collection of men and women."

Colonel Gualano also explained how each Airman contributes to the strength of the Air Force and that regardless of any challenges they may face, they have the ability to remain steadfast.

"What you do is important," he said. "The Center's mission is evolving and changing. I encourage you to hang in there, stay focused on our customers and everything will fall in place."

Colonel Gualano ended his ceremony by thanking his wife and daughter as well as the base Honor Guard and all those who contributed their time and effort to the day's event.

The AFFSC commander concluded his speech by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the 28th Bomb Wing for its hospitality.

"I want to thank the 28th Bomb Wing for all of their support," he said. "I would like to especially thank Protocol, the 28th Communications Squadron, 28th Force Support Squadron and all agencies across the wing. You are outstanding hosts and we really do appreciate it."
