Ellsworth Airmen have been given a unique opportunity to enhance motorcycle safety messages and training through a new program called MUSTT.

MUSTT, or Motorcycle Unit Safety Tracking Tool, is an automated safety system designed to track the demographics of all motorcycle riders in the Air Force. The data obtained is used to develop and deliver the most effective messages to the right demographics.

"The information we gather from this system will help the Air Force determine which motorcycle-riding demographics need targeting, and which safety programs need to be adopted," said Master Sgt. Jason Theunissen, 28th BW wing safety superintendent.

The 28th Bomb Wing safety office has been utilizing MUSTT since Jan. 27. Since its inception, 97 riders have registered with the program. Airmen and Air Force civilians are encouraged to participate by contacting their unit safety representative.

"This is a great way for Ellsworth Airmen to contribute to the Air Force culture of safety," said Chief Master Sgt. Brian Lavoie, 28th BW command chief and avid motorcycle rider. "Their input will directly help ensure training messages are focused on those groups that need them most."

The safety office has set a goal for all motorcyclists on Ellsworth to be registered in the system by March 1.
