An Air Force Personnel Center briefing team will be on base August 17, to provide Airmen with information on personnel issues. A briefing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the base theater. All Airmen and civilians are encouraged to attend.

"One of the Air Force's top priorities is to develop and care for our Air Force people, and we want to hear from you about what works and what we can improve," said Maj. Gen. K.C. McClain, AFPC commander. "Our AFPC teams look forward to sharing useful information with you and receiving feedback on what's important to you."

General McClain began the Air Force-wide Spread the Word briefing tour October 2008, at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

"AFPC is evolving to provide personnel services in new formats through new programs, and we want to communicate these changes in the field--so we're coming to you," said General McClain in a Randolph Air Force Base, Texas press release.

According to the press release, the Spread the Word briefings provide information on personnel issues and operational efficiency improvements, and allow Air Force members direct, face-to-face contact with AFPC personnel to address concerns and provide feedback.

"If you've been trying to get an assignment, this is your chance to talk to the experts," said Maj. Nancy Koch-Castillo, 28th Force Support Squadron operations officer and Ellsworth Air Force Base point-of-contact for the Spread the Word briefings.

Some of the specific topics covered in the briefings include 365-day deployment options, the Global Air Expeditionary Force tempo-banding system, civilian hiring procedures and assignment processes. The briefing teams also include military and civilian assignment experts, as well as deployment experts, who will be available for questions after each session.

Part of the mission of Spread the Word is show the base populous there are people in the Air Force actively working issues at AFPC, said Major Koch-Castillo. Attending the briefings provides people an opportunity to learn about the future of personnel programs, from the experts.
