Airman James Diaz pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit larceny, larceny, dereliction of duty, and wrongful appropriation. The conspiracy and larceny charges stemmed from the theft of a squadron television. In December 2008, Airman Diaz and another Airman agreed to steal a 42" plasma television from the security forces squadron. After borrowing a truck to transport the television off base, Airman Diaz and the other Airman went to the squadron, loaded the television into the truck, covered it with a blanket, and attempted to drive off-base. They were apprehended at the gate by agents from the Office of Special Investigations Detachment 266 here. A panel of six officers sentenced Airman Diaz to six months of confinement and forfeitures of $500 per month for 10 months. The Air Force corrections system will determine where Airman Diaz will serve out his sentence.
