For the road ahead
BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- (From right) Army Chaplain (Maj.) Carlos Carrea, 55th Sustainment Brigade, and Air Force Chaplain (Capt.) Jeffrey Granger, 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing, speak with Soldiers from the 16th of the 38th Truck Company about an upcoming convoy mission here, May 12. Chaplains provide various religious services and materials to deployed personnel to fulfill their spiritual needs; chaplains can also help bolster morale among servicemembers. During their visit with the Soldiers about to convoy, the chaplains handed out boxes of Girl Scout cookies to remind them of the comforts of home while on the road. Girl Scouts from Eastern Massachusetts recently donated 1,500 boxes of cookies to the Balad AB. Major Carrea is deployed from Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico; Captain Granger is deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Senior Airman Julianne Showalter)
