Two servicemembers and one civilian were involved in a vehicle accident here, April 29, at the intersection of Ellsworth Street and Scott Drive at approximately 9 a.m., said Mr. Craig Yandre, 28th Civil Engineer Squadron lead firefighter.

The two servicemembers were traveling inside a 44-passenger government bus, and the civilian was operating a sports utility vehicle when the accident occurred.

The victims suffered no injuries during the accident, said Master Sgt. Clarence Barry Jr., 28th Security Forces Squadron flight chief.

Although there were no injuries, wing representatives reiterated the importance of safety.

"The best way to avoid accidents at intersections is for drivers to always make sure that they come to a complete stop," said Airman 1st Class Carrie Lane, 28th Bomb Wing ground safety technician. "Drivers also need to make sure they look left and right at intersections, while also obeying the proper speed limit."

This instruction may sound simple to drivers, but it's a necessary reminder and is important knowledge for avoiding future accidents, said Airman Lane.

The exact cause and details of this accident are under investigation, said Sergeant Barry.
