ELLSWORTH AFB, S.D. --  The Air Force considered 3,138 line captains for promotion to major and selected 2,535, an 80 percent selection rate for line officers. Ellsworth had 21 captains up for promotion and 19 were selected. Ellsworth's newest majors are:
