The Ellsworth community gathered together to take a brief break from the grind of day-to-day life during the base picnic Aug. 20. Centrally located at the Bellamy Fitness Center, this annual family-friendly event was sponsored primarily by local businesses as a way to say thank you to active-duty Airmen, retirees, Department of Defense civilians and families for their hard work, dedication and sacrifices. Children seemed unable to resist the temptation of an inflatable slide that combined the bounce of a jumpy castle and the speed of the slope during the Ellsworth base picnic Aug. 20.
