Ellsworth is adopting the Air Force Connect app, connecting Airmen with the information that matters most to their lives and careers.

“The AF Connect mobile application is a one stop shop for information that military members will need in order to have a successful time on base,” said 2nd Lt. Michael Caggiano, 28th Bomb Wing public affairs officer. “The app helps us prepare for the future by providing a unique and creative way to communicate with our Airmen and gives us the opportunity to break past communication barriers to provide timely, important, and accurate information when needed.”

The app provides tools for military members to stay connected with Ellsworth by providing them with a phone directory, information about the base and the surrounding area, on base events and important notifications. In the future, Ellsworth intends to add the ability to access important websites for different services within the app.

“We hope to add much more to this service as we continue to build the app up,” said Caggiano. “The hope is to have many of the bases customer service squadrons integrate their customer service tools such as websites, links and files onto the app so our members do not have to try so hard to find this information on the internet.”

The app is free for anyone to use and is located in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Airmen can then select their unit from a drop-down menu and add it to their favorites.

“The app is always changing and we are constantly looking for new ways to improve it,” said Caggiano. “I believe that this app is a very important aspect of what we do here at Ellsworth. Ultimately, this helps improve the quality of life for our Airmen. They are the people who make the mission run. This app is just another tool to help them be ready to fight.”
