Ellsworth B-1s to conduct flyovers for July 4

ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. – Officials from the 28th Bomb Wing announced that B-1B aircraft are scheduled to conduct flyovers in the Black Hills region on July 4 as part of several Independence Day events.

The times may fluctuate due to mission requirements or weather, but the bombers are slated to appear at the following times listed.

Flyover Schedule:

9 a.m. – Mount Rushmore (Keystone, S.D.)

10 a.m. – Gillette 4th of July Parade (Gillette, Wyo.)

10 a.m. – Hot Springs 4th of July Celebration Parade

10:10 a.m. – Custer Patriots Day Parade (Custer, S.D.)

10:20 a.m. – Piedmont 4th of July Parade (Piedmont, S.D.)

10:30 a.m. – Belle Fourche Black Hills Roundup Parade (Belle Fourche, S.D.)

11 a.m. – Lambert Main Street Parade (Lambert, Mont.)

11 a.m. (CST) – Fort Pierre Independence Day Celebration (Fort Pierre, S.D.)

Noon – Lead/Deadwood Gold Camp Jubilee (Lead, S.D.)

12:15 p.m.– Spearfish Independence Day Parade (Spearfish, S.D.)

Flyovers are allowed as part of approved training missions. Residents living in and around the Black Hills could experience an increased noise level related to the flyovers.
