Personnel of the 28th Force Support Squadron organized a 3-Day Basketball Extravaganza in the Bellamy Fitness Center at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Jan. 27.

The event consisted of a free-throw competition, a 3-point competition and a 4-on-4 basketball game, all with the goal of encouraging physical activity as well as fostering morale amongst servicemembers.

"We want Airmen to come out and have fun," said Airman 1st Class Blanca Rios, 28th FSS services technician. "It is a good way to de-stress from work."

Rios added that it's important for Airmen to engage in physical activity and it helps them to maintain a high level of mission readiness.

The winners of the event were:

Free-throw competition:
Airman 1st Class William Sawyer, 28th Maintenance Squadron phase inspection technician.
