Approximately 200 Guardsmen from the 1st Battalion 143rd Infantry Regiment Airborne from Austin, Texas, prepare to board two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft assigned to Altus Air Force Base, Okla., as part of Golden Coyote at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., June 8, 2015. Created in 1984 by the South Dakota National Guard, with the cooperation of the National Forest Service and Custer State Park, this year's Golden Coyote training exercise will allow nearly 3,000 servicemembers to conduct combat support and combat service support missions in a realistic training environment and provide valuable services to the public.
