Tornado siren to sound on base April 22 Published April 21, 2015 By 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The tornado siren will sound on base April 22 as part of a base severe weather exercise. Airmen and their families are expected to find shelter and take appropriate actions when the sirens sound. All base residents are encouraged to review their preparedness plans with their families and coworkers to ensure everyone understands what steps to take if severe weather such as a tornado were to strike the base, including how to notify family members of their whereabouts.
