28th MDG publishes Ebola public health advisory Published Oct. 8, 2014 By 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The 28th Medical Group issued a public health advisory regarding the Ebola virus, its background, transmission and prevention, Oct. 6. The Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976 near the Ebola River, which is now the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and is now found in several African countries. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed the first travel-associated case of Ebola to be diagnosed in the United States. The full advisory may be found by clicking here.
