Patriot Gate, school drop off and pick up procedures starting Aug. 25 Published Aug. 21, 2014 By 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- As the Douglas School District school year begins Aug. 25, morning procedures at the Patriot Gate, or School Gate, will change to help families safely navigate student drop-off and pick-up, and to minimize traffic congestion around the schools. The Patriot Gate will be closed to outbound vehicle traffic from 6-8 a.m. on school days, but will remain open to inbound vehicles and pedestrian traffic. Parents traveling from Ellsworth Air Force Base will need to use the Liberty Gate, or Main Gate, to access the schools during these times.
