Airman 1st Class Jonathan L. Clark, 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, pled guilty to one charge and one specification of sexual assault on a sleeping victim at a general court martial convened by Lt. Gen. Tod Wolters, 12th Air Force commander.

A military judge found Clark guilty and sentenced him to be reduced to the grade of airman basic, to forfeit $1,500 of his pay per month for eight months, to be confined for eight months and to be discharged from the service with a bad conduct discharge. Wolters approved the findings and sentence in the case July 29.

All members of the Armed Forces are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The UCMJ lists a number of criminal offences. A member who commits one of these offences is subject to trial by court-martial. The rules and procedures for court-martial administration are governed by Air Force Instruction 51-201, "Administration of Military Justice."
