QUESTION

Col. Kennedy,

Is it possible to have arrows painted on the commissary/BX parking lot since some people can't figure out the direction to drive even through the parking slots are specifically slanted one way?

  RESPONSE

I completely agree that our parking lot can be a bit confusing -- especially given that the parking spaces and lines are a bit worn. We expect to award a contract to sealcoat and paint parking stripes at the Commissary/BX parking lots in the coming week. However, it is likely that the winter weather will delay project completion until spring. I have asked the Mission Support Group Commander to look into adding directional arrows to help with the flow as part of this painting effort. While that will help some, the Commissary/BX parking lots generate their fair share of fender benders and we will have to remain vigilant for the occasional driver headed the wrong way (and exceeding the 5 MPH speed limit). Thanks for your question and suggestion...very timely with the award of the painting contract!
