SDDOT to host open house, gather public input for traffic study near Ellsworth Published July 22, 2016 By 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs 28th Bomb Wing Public Affairs ELLSWORTH AIR FORCE BASE, S.D. -- The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the City of Box Elder, the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Federal Highway Administration, will host a public open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. inside the main atrium at Black Hills State University, Rapid City, SD, July 26. Open to all members of the public, including those who live or work at Ellsworth AFB, the meeting is being held to help the SDDOT gather information for a study being conducted regarding future configuration for mainline Interstate 90 (I-90) and the Exit 63 interchange.Public agency and consultant staff will be available with displays to discuss issues, answer questions and take ideas and opinions.
