Command Message: Spouse Appreciation Day

VIDEO STORY TRANSCRIPT -- Military Spouse Appreciation day is, first and foremost, an opportunity to thank our spouses for their service and their sacrifice.

We're encouraging them to come out and take a relaxing day with us to find out more about what the wing does, what their unit does, and what individual spouses do, and acquaint them with some programs along the way that are available to help them throughout the year.

Our agenda starts off at nine oclock at the base theater where we'll spend about an hour with some opening comments from my wife Ellie and I and then some programs and tables set up around the theater to orient our spouses to just some of the things that are available to help them all year long. Then at ten oclock from ten to two thirty there will be individual time in our individual squadrons and groups where spouses will get oriented to what their military member does, what goes on in that unit, and what that mission is.

There'll be free lunch provided for each of those squadrons, and there'll be childcare provided either in some kind of arrangement set up by your individual squadron or we'll make your military member available to stay home with your kids so you can come to work instead of them that day.

We're planning for a very fun and informative day, and we hope our spouses will be able to attend. We look forward to meeting you and seeing you there. Thanks.
