Ellsworth honors former 28th BW commander

Ellsworth Honor Guard members raise the base flag in honor of Maj. Gen. Joseph Brown IV at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., April 23, 2013. The general, stationed at Ellsworth from June 2001 to June 2005, was killed April 19 when the Cessna 210 he was piloting crashed in Williamsburg, Va. During Brown’s 33 years of service, he flew more than 4,300 hours in the B-1, B-52 and select other aircraft, and commanded the 28th Bomb Wing from February 2004 to June 2005.
