Non-Destructive Inspection
Airman 1st Class Samantha Watkins, 28th Maintenance Squadron non-destructive inspection apprentice, removes excess penetrant from a weapons pylon lift assembly prior to ultra-violet inspection at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., Feb. 10, 2012. The penetrant allows cracks to be visible under UV lamps and allows technicians to identify metal inconsistencies and flaws that may occur due to daily operations.
