ELLSWORTH AFB, S.D. - Airmen of the 28th Maintenance Squadron repair and reclamation section use crash recovery equipment to lift an F-100A Super Sabre, Sept 27. Because active aircraft can’t be lifted during training exercises, the 28th MXS coordinated with the South Dakota Air and Space Museum to lift the display F-100A. The 28th Maintenance Squadron repair and reclamation section is responsible for crash recovery; they manage clean-up efforts in the event of an aircraft incident on the airfield.
