Super Technician
Albert Weatherbee (left), 28th Maintenance Group Air Force Engineering and Technical Services is having his work inspected by Scott McKnight (right) Dyess Air Force Base 7th MXG AFETS propulsion specialist. "Mr. Weatherbee is currently a highly proficient airframe systems technician,” said Lanny Harris, 28th MXG temporary lead. “After testing into propulsion systems, Mr. Weatherbee is dual qualified and is the first AFETS technician to be recognized as a super technician.”

Mike Daniel, headquarters Air Combat Command general electric propulsion specialist performed the oral testing portion of the inspection of Mr. Weatherbee's knowledge of the B-1 propulsion system and said that he was very pleased with Mr. Weatherbee's demonstrated knowledge of the B-1B propulsion system and that the evaluation went extremely well.

The Super Tech Program provides a valuable product by enabling the Air Force to reduce its deployed footprint utilizing General Schedule-12 AFETS with a wide skill set. This program provides an opportunity for GS-11 team members to earn promotion to GS-12 by gaining these additional skills and assuming added responsibilities.
