Former President Gerald R. Ford lies in repose at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, California, as citizens from the surrounding community pay their respects. More than 500 military members are in Palm Desert supporting the California portion of the State Funeral for the former president. Former President Gerald R. Ford lies in repose at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Palm Desert, California, as citizens from the surrounding community pay their respects. More than 500 military members are in Palm Desert supporting the California portion of the State Funeral for the former president. Tech Sgt. Corey Goodfellow, the noncommissioned officer in charge of the First Term Airmen Center, learned of his relationship to 1st Lt. John Goodfellow, the namesake of Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, once he had enlistment in the Air Force.
